STILLWATER, Okla. — Today marks the 25th year when Oklahoma State University lost 10 in a plane crash.
Denver Mills, Nate Fleming, Dan Lawson, Jared Weiberg, Pat Noyes, Bill Teegins, Will Hancock, Brian Luinstra, Kendall Durfey and Bjorn Fahlstrom all died in the crash on January 27, 2001 heading back to Stillwater from a game against Colorado.
OSU is reminding people of the effort The Oklahoma Oral History Research Program started in 2020 called ‘The We Will Remember Promise’ in collaboration with the OSU Department of Athletics that documents the memories of the 10 lost in the 2011 plane crash as well as the four connected to the women’s basketball program who died in a 2011 plane crash.
The project for both “Remember the 10” and “Remember the Four” are currently ongoing as interviews are being conducted with family, staff and others connected to the two tragedies.
