City of Coffeyville announces revitalization grant recipients

By Fox23.com News Staff

COFFEYVILLE, Kans. — The City of Coffeyville announced the recipients of the 2026 Downtown Revitalization Grant Program.

The City offers the grant each year to support reinvestment and revitalization within the downtown district.

The program is funded through a voter-approved one-half cent sales tax specifically designated for downtown revitalization efforts. This tax was approved by Coffeyville voters to ensure dedicated, locally generated funding is reinvested into buildings, businesses and visible improvements that strengthen the economic health and appearance of the downtown area, the City said.

The Downtown Revitalization Grant Program opens annually and provides financial assistance for eligible exterior improvements, building rehabilitation and other qualifying projects that enhance downtown Coffeyville.

Funds are awarded through a competitive application process to ensure responsible use of sales tax dollars and alignment with the purpose approved by voters.

The City said seven projects were selected for funding based on project readiness, community impact and consistency with downtown revitalization goals.

The total amount requested for this year’s grant program is $119,179.18.

Grant program awardees include:

  • Gary Eisele – $20,000
  • Hersh’s – $20,000
  • RoDeYo Holdings – $8,172
  • Michelle McGuirk – $20,000
  • The Yoke Bar and Grill – $20,000
  • Michael Hassenplug – $10,557.18
  • Larry Bartkoski – $20,000

“These investments reflect the continued commitment of our downtown property and business owners to reinvest in Coffeyville,” said Amber Dean, Director of Community Development. “The Downtown Grant Program ensures voter-approved funding is used as intended—to support reinvestment, improve our downtown, and create long-term value for the community.”

Grant agreements will be finalized following City approval and projects will move forward in accordance with program requirements and established timelines.
