TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Fire Department responded to the Saint Francis Hospital South Cardinal Building Friday morning after insulation was sparked while a crew was working on the roof.
Saint Francis said a crew was working on the roof of the building, which is located in the medical park near Highway 169 and East 91st Street, around 9 a.m.
Insulation materials briefly sparked into a smolder, which was extinguished before there were visible flames.
Saint Francis said because insulation was involved, there was a noticeable amount of smoke and a strong odor.
There was no impact on patient care in the nearby hospital.
As a precaution, staff and patients in the Cardinal Building were briefly relocated while firefighters cleared the area. The process has been completed and everyone has returned to the building.
