Man sentenced to life in prison in north Tulsa sexual assault case

UPDATE 1/21/2026 — Jose Rodrigo Neri-Alberran has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty in the sexual assault case in December.

According to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s office, Neri-Albarran was sentence to life in prison on the first count, first-degree rape. On the second count, the kidnapping charge, he was sentenced to 15 years and 10 years on the first-degree burglary charged.

The District Attorney’s office says counts one and two will run consecutively.


TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a suspect in a north Tulsa sexual assault case pleaded guilty to first degree rape.

Police said on Feb. 3, officers responded to a rape in progress in north Tulsa.

The 18-year-old victim said she heard a knock on the door and saw a man wearing a bandana over his face. The man pulled out a gun, pointed it at her and demanded she open the door.

Police said inside the house, the man bound the victim’s wrists, blindfolded her, threatened her life, then raped her.

The victim was taken to the hospital for a SANE exam and the Tulsa Police Special Victims Unit began investigating.

Police said the victim believed the suspect was a man named Rodrigo who was remodeling their kitchen. Detectives further identified the suspect as Jose Rodrigo Neri-Albarran.

Shortly after the incident, Neri-Albarran was arrested on an unrelated larceny charge and booked into the Tulsa County Jail.

DNA testing on the victim’s sexual assault kit and other evidence recovered through the investigation confirmed Neri-Albarran was the suspect in the assault.

On Feb. 14, Neri-Albarran was charged with first degree rape, kidnapping and first degree burglary. On Dec. 5, he pleaded guilty to the charges.

Police said sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 20.
