OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. — Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported that one man is deceased following a crash near Conifer Road in Okmulgee County.
According to troopers, 83-year-old Thomas Wainwright was driving when he approached a stop sign on Conifer Road. He rolled through the stop and drove into the southbound lanes of US-75.
A second driver hit Wainwright on the driver’s side. Wainwright passed away as a result of the crash.
The second driver was identified as Michael Nicholson, 61, from Texas. OHP said Nicholson was not injured in the crash.
This is an ongoing investigation and Wainwright’s next of kin have been contacted.
