OKC Zoo releases update on Sumatran tiger cub

By Fox23.com News Staff

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Oklahoma City Zoo is providing an update (or “CUB”date) on the cub born to Lola and Badar, two endangered Sumatran tigers.

The cub is a boy and the zoo’s veterinary team completed a neonatal exam showing that he is strong and healthy.

The cub is nursing regularly and weighs almost 6 pounds and has opened his eyes which usually happens 6-14 days after birth.

He is continuing to bond with his mother at Cat Forest and caretakers say Lola is doing an excellent job caring for him.

The cub has not yet been named and will be out of public view until he is big enough to get around the outdoor tiger habitat safely.
