JENKS — A bridge rehabilitation project near Jenks could impact traffic on US-75 for about a year, and construction starts today.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will start work on the US-75 bridge over Polecat Creek, located just north of the Creek Turnpike interchange. Both northbound and southbound lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the Creek Turnpike and 96th Street.
Drivers should notice a significant change in travel times. ODOT’s TJ Gerlach tells KRMG what is being repaired.
“We’ve got some major rehab work that needs to be done on the two bridges. So, some concrete repairs, (and) resurfacing on one bridge and putting a new deck on the other,” Gerlach said.
He also said, weather permitting, the $4 Million dollar project is expected to be completed in November.
“One route some people might chose to take is (HWY) 117 over to Sapulpa and then Route 66 into Tulsa. That’s one way. Anybody also willing to take the tolled route can get on the turnpike itself and head over to the Turner Turnpike,” Gerlach said.
