BIXBY, Okla. — The Bixby Fire Department is celebrating a few milestones.
Not only are they celebrating two years with two full-time ambulances, they have also added a third ambulance which began operation yesterday.
Called Squad 3, the new ambulance provides coverage when the other ambulances are on calls and helps keep response times strong.
Bixby Fire says Squad 3 is crewed by Paramedic Cole Sharp, AEMT Easton Meaux, and AEMT Lauren Penrod.
The fire station is also promoting BixbyCare, their EMS subscription program to aid residents with ambulance costs.
It is an automatic enrollment for residents with a city water bill, is $90 a year and covers everyone in the home and say members pay noting out of pocket after insurance is billed.
