COWETA, Okla. — Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said a pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run crash in Coweta.

31-year-old Noel Brandon, who’s from Seattle, Washington, was in town for a family member’s funeral when the accident occurred, according to his father.

Brandon’s father said he and his son drove more than 20 hours straight from Washington and arrived last night so they could attend Brandon’s uncle’s funeral being held on Friday.

On Thursday morning, Brandon left the hotel for a jog to keep up with his training for an ultramarathon when his father said he was hit and killed near East 141st Street, just west of Highway 51.

According to law enforcement, the suspected driver—identified as Eric Rosales-Leon—is in custody.

Authorities said Rosales-Leon is facing charges of 2nd Degree Murder, Felony DUI and Leaving the Scene of an Accident, along with other miscellaneous charges.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
