Two men wanted in Taft Memorial Day festival shooting surrender to police

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Two men who were wanted in connection with a shooting in Taft during a Memorial Day festival that wounded eight people and killed a woman surrendered to Muskogee police Thursday night, Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Edwards said.

Authorities have been searching for Gervorise Warrior, 19, and Keshaun Jackson, 18, both from Muskogee after they were charged with murder and eight counts of shooting with intent to kill on June 17.

Skyler Buckner, 26, and Kendall Alexander, 25, have also been charged in connection with the shooting.

On May 29, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation responded to the shooting at a Memorial Day festival in Taft, where 1,500 people were in attendance.

Agents said there was an altercation which led to gunfire and nine people where wounded. At least 40 shell casings were recovered from the scene, according to court documents.

One of the shooting victims, Sherika Bowler, was taken to the hospital where she later died. The other eight victims, whose ages range from 9 to 56 are recovering.

All four men are currently in the Muskogee County jail.
