Tulsa Public Schools recommending masks, regardless of vaccination status

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) shared their updated COVID-19 safety plan at Monday night’s school board meeting.

Tulsa Public Schools is encouraging and recommending that every adult and student wear a mask indoors and outdoors, regardless of vaccination status. They say masks will be required on all Tulsa Public School buses.

TPS sent a letter to parents and posted updated information on the Tulsa Public Schools website and their Facebook page.

TPS says they still have approximately 17,200 children in the system who are not yet eligible for vaccination.

At Monday’s meeting, TPS recommended children ages 12 and up be vaccinated before returning to school.

Safety measures in place include handwashing and sanitizing, contact tracing and quarantining, rapid testing, and limited building access.
