Tulsa police investigating after young adult female shot in north Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police are investigating after a young adult female was found shot in the leg at John Burroughs Elementary School early Tuesday morning.

Sergeant Jered Metzger says details are scarce at this time, but they found the victim near the school around 4 a.m.

The victim had a gun shot wound to the lower leg and is expected to be okay.

Sergeant Metzger tells us the parties involved are not helping with the investigation, but there were a few witnesses who are being interviewed.

TPD says officers searched the area near the school but were unable to find any evidence in the area.

Police are still working to learn what circumstances led to the shooting.

The names of anyone involved have not yet been released while officers work to learn more.
