TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police are investigating what led to the fatal shooting of a woman early Wednesday morning.
Sergeant Jered Metzger says they responded to a call of shots fired near North Peoria Avenue and East Pine Street around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
When first responders got to the scene, Sergeant Metzger says they found a woman who had been shot laying on the ground. He says paramedics tried to save her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they believe the woman was driving in the area with two other people in the car when a man outside the car opened fire.
Sergeant Metzger says the investigation is still very early, and TPD is still working to answer a lot of questions about what led to the shots being fired.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
