Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum and officers with Tulsa Police Department's Special Investigations Division Mayor Bynum joined officers on patrol Saturday night to look into rising gun violence.

TULSA, Okla. — Mayor G.T. Bynum went out on patrol with Tulsa Police Department’s Special Investigation Division Saturday night.

Tulsa police say Mayor Bynum spent a night with officers while they patrolled the streets to get more information about the rise in gun violence seen around the city.

The Special Investigations Division is in charge of investigating many of the shootings that have happened, particularly gang-related incidents.

Police say they’re working hard to stop the rise in shootings, and appreciate the help Tulsans have provided to get illegal guns off the street.
