Original episodes will air through September and previously aired episodes of “Maury” will continue to run in syndication, Deadline reported.

In a statement to Deadline, Tracie Wilson, EVP of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, said, “Maury and I decided two years ago that this season would be the farewell season for the show, and while his retirement is bittersweet, we are so happy for him to be able to spend more time on the golf course.”

Hosted by Maury Povich, the show premiered in 1991 and has produced more than 3,600 episodes, according to Entertainment Weekly. Outlasting “The Jerry Springer Show,” and other talk shows of a similar genre, “Maury” featured regular people instead of celebrities as guests and dealt with sensational, controversial topics. “Maury” became known for its paternity test episodes, according to TV Insider.

“Maury” maintained strong ratings throughout its long run, averaging 1.7 million viewers in 2020, according to NBCUniversal.
