TCSO arrests man accused of stealing veteran’s car, service dog

TULSA COUNTY — The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) arrested a man accused of stealing a veteran’s car and service dog.

According to an court documents, on Nov. 7, 2022 a man reported to the the Tulsa Police Department that his car, a white 2015 BMW, was stolen.

The victim, who claimed to be a combat veteran, said he went to his wife’s Tulsa workplace that day to give her some lunch. He also said his service dog was in the back of the car.

While he delivered the lunch, he left his passenger, Kyle Wasserman, and his service dog in the car.

When the victim returned, his car was gone.

The victim said Wasserman was the only person left with his car in that time and is the only one who could have taken it. He also said he never gave Wasserman permission to take his car.

According to the victim, he was able to contact Wasserman by phone and Wasserman admitted to taking his dog and his car without permission.

It was later discovered that Wasserman had released the dog on the side of Highway 66 in Verdigris, after taking off its collar.

A warrant for Wasserman’s arrest was issued on Dec. 13, 2022.

On Jan 24. 2023, TCSO arrested Wasserman.
