Snow and wind to hit northeast Oklahoma over the weekend

The National Weather Service is predicting about an inch of snow in the Tulsa metro.

TULSA, Okla. — The National Weather Service is predicting around an inch of snow to fall in the Tulsa metro on Saturday.

Meteorologist Brad McGavock tells us the system should move in late Friday night, with snow starting to fall as we get into the day on Saturday.

The weather service is not forecasting any severe weather threats this weekend, but a Wind Advisory will go into effect starting Friday at 10 p.m. lasting until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Wind Advisory includes Tulsa County and all surrounding counties. Wind speeds between 15 and 25 miles per hour are expected, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour possible.

McGavock says snow accumulation on roadways should be minimal, but he’s recommending drivers keep an eye out for slick spots on elevated bridges.

Temperatures are forecast to warm right back up alongside sunny skies on Sunday.
