Sequoyah County crash victim identified as subject of Silver Alert

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) has confirmed that the person killed in a Sequoyah County crash was the subject of a recent Silver Alert.

On Jan. 21, a Silver Alert was issued for David Mobley, age 75 of Sallisaw, stating that Mobley was last seen on the afternoon of Jan. 20, leaving a Veterans Affairs clinic in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

On Jan. 23, OHP said a crash happened on Jan. 20 on I-40 about 3 miles west of Muldrow.

According to OHP, a truck headed west rear-ended another car on I-40. The truck then left to the roadway to the left, struck the cable barrier and traveled down the barrier for about 360 feet before coming to a rest. The truck then ignited and burned completely.

OHP said the driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Jan. 24, the driver of the truck was identified by the Medical Examiner.

OHP confirmed that Mobley was the driver of the truck.

The Silver Alert was canceled on Jan. 24.
