When architect Andrew Kinslow and his firm came up with the idea, they never expected this reaction.
"We were making all of this up." Kinslow told FOX23 News.
But now that the concept drawing has spread all over the world and generated tons of reaction, they’re seriously considering building it.
Investors from all over the U.S. and even some in Europe and Asia have expressed interest in the project.
Some don’t like the concept of the tornado tower in downtown Tulsa.
“I think it’s more of a caricature type thing.” A KRMG listener said. “It looks like something in Vegas.”
But Kinslow said it’s become too popular to go anywhere else.
“It’s known as the Tulsa Tornado Tower around the world, so I think it will end up being in Tulsa.”
They’re now shopping for a lot in downtown Tulsa, either a half or full city block. Depending on what they find, the tower could be 17 stories tall or maybe closer to 30.
Kinslow said there’s a 70 percent chance it’ll be built.
