Burglary suspect falls asleep in front of victim's home

A man calls police to tell them a truck was parked in front of his residence and it matches the green pickup that had burglarized his property just a day earlier.

Police tell us the incident happened on Saturday, near 4th and Sheridan.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Rodney Burke sleeping in the pickup.

We're told officers interrupted his sleep and did a background check.  It turns out, Burke has a lengthy history involving burglaries.

Burke's case didn't improve, when the victim recognized storage containers sitting in the bed of Burke's truck.  Inside the containers, officers recovered books with the names of the victim's children.

Police say they also found a shotgun and several burglary tools.

Burke was arrested and taken to the Tulsa County Jail.

No word on why he might have returned to the scene of the crime.
