Upcoming “The Outsiders” book to feature 148 never-before-seen photos from production

Danny Boy O’Connor, Executive Director of The Outsiders House Museum, joined the KRMG Morning News with Dan Potter Tuesday to share details about a new, upcoming book that features 148 photos from the making of “The Outsiders” movie.

The book is titled “The Outsiders ‘Rare and Unseen’” and showcases photos taken by world-renowned photographer David Burnett during the filming process.

O’Connor says nearly all of the photos have never been seen or published before now. The photos capture the cast at locations like The Outsiders house, the Admiral Twin Drive-in, and various places throughout Tulsa in the spring of 1982.

The book also has a few quotes and short anecdotes from the actors about the characters they played. O’Connor says the book is a treasure trove of photos that capture a wide spectrum of very serious and very candid moments on set.
