New Jesus statue donated to church after previous statue was stolen

TULSA, Okla. — A midtown church had a new Jesus statue donated to them after the previous statue was stolen.

Yale Avenue Christian Church, near East 41st Street and South Yale Avenue, said a statue of Jesus was stolen from them a few weeks ago.

The statue was part of a prayer garden at the church that was put together in the late 1970s.

Rev. Andy Campbell said the new statue came from Skiatook Statuary.

He also said the new statue looks very similar but has one key difference.

“It was the owners of the Skiatook Statuary that were generous to donate another statue of Jesus. And it looks very similar to the one that we had previously but this one’s a little larger. He made the suggestion that nobody’s gonna walk away with this one very easily,” said Campbell.
