More Green Country schools in distance learning Friday

Staff absences have caused more Green Country schools to move to distance learning Friday, Jan. 14.

Be sure to check the list below to see if your child’s school is affected.

Bixby Public Schools:

Distance learning for the remainder of the week through Friday, Jan. 14. No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The district says they hope to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Broken Arrow Public Schools:

The district has announced distance learning will continue this week. Superintendent Chuck Perry says all campuses will remain in distance learning from Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 21.

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17.

Claremore Public Schools:

Will Rogers Junior High moves to distance learning for the remainder of the week through Friday, Jan. 14. No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The school will resume in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Per CPS: Grab & Go meals will be available at the CPS Enrollment Center (101 W. 11th Street) from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. If you choose, you may pick up meals for the entire week at that time. Parents or guardians can pick up student medications held in the school nurse’s office Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. A Picture ID will be required to pick up medication.

Glenpool Public Schools:

Distance learning for all schools for the remainder of the week through Friday, Jan. 14. No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. In-person classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Haskell Public Schools:

Haskell Public Schools has announced they are continuing with distance learning this week. The district says all campuses will remain closed from Tuesday, Jan. 18., through Friday, Jan. 21.

Haskell Public Schools posted a statement on their website announcing the change.

Jenks Public Schools:

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. In-person classes are set to resume Tuesday, Jan. 18. for students at West Elementary, West Intermediate, and all 9th through 12th grade students.

The district says East Elementary and Northwest Elementary will return to in-person learning on Thursday, Jan. 20.

McAlester Public Schools:

The district has not yet provided an update after closing all campuses on Thursday, Jan. 13, and Friday, Jan. 14.

McAlester Public Schools remains closed Monday, Jan. 17 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Metro Christian Academy:

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. Metro Christian Academy plans to resume in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Muskogee Public Schools:

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The district plans to resume in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Owasso Public Schools:

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The district says Tuesday, Jan. 18, is a virtual professional development day, so there will be no school.

The district plans to resume in-person learning on Wednesday, Jan. 19.

Sand Springs Public Schools:

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The district plans to resume in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The district plans to resume in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Tahlequah public Schools:

No school for MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The district has not yet provided an update for this week.

Tulsa Public Schools:

Tulsa Public Schools has not yet provided an update for this week.

Union Public Schools:

Union Public Schools has extended distance learning days this week. The district says all campuses will remain in distance learning Tuesday, Jan. 18, and Wednesday, Jan. 19.
