Man robs Sonic employee at gunpoint Monday night

TULSA, Okla. — A man robbed a Sonic employee at gunpoint around 9:45 p.m. Monday night, according to police.

The suspect attempted to run from the scene but a witness followed the suspect in their car. That’s when the suspect fired two shots at the witness, police say.

The witness followed the suspect into the nearby Barcelona Apartments complex where Tulsa police and a K9 unit set up a perimeter and attempted to track the fleeing suspect.

Police were unable to find the man. No one was hurt and no evidence was recovered. Some cash and the Sonic employee’s apron were stolen during the robbery.

The robbery took place at the Sonic near East 51st Street and South Yale Avenue.
