Man arrested for trying to shoot and kill his uncle

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police arrested a convicted felon for trying to shoot and kill his uncle in north Tulsa Thursday night.

Police went to a call about shots fired around 11 p.m. near 1300 East 51st Place North.

When officers got the neighborhood, they saw a truck driving away without its headlights on. Officers stopped the truck and saw the driver, identified as Henry Harris, 41, dig in the glove box and run away from the truck. He hid behind another vehicle and tossed a handgun he was carrying.

Officers took Harris into custody and recovered the handgun from a nearby yard. They learned he is convicted felon.

The victim of the shooting then came out of a house and said he was the Harris’s uncle. The uncle said there was an altercation and Harris fired the gun twice at the uncle without hitting anyone.

The gun was discovered to be stolen.

Harris was arrested and booked for shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony, among other things.

Harris was taken to David L. Moss for booking.
