Sand Springs, Okla. — Work on a new highway intersection in Sand Springs started Monday.
The work is happening just north of the Arkansas River along Highway 97.
The city says the new intersection will feature a turning lane and traffic control signals.
The work is an effort to attract more retail businesses to the area.
