Woman severely wounded in Monday night shooting in south Tulsa

Happened just minutes after another shooting a few blocks away

Police say there are still not many answers in the case of a shooting that happened late Monday night near 61st and Peoria that left a woman critically injured.

It was actually the second shooting in the same area, just minutes and a few blocks apart.

Tulsa Police Officer Danny Bean says a lieutenant was helping set up a perimeter on the first shooting, when he heard the shots fired in the second one.

“He immediately goes over there, gets flagged down, where he finds a female subject that had been shot twice or multiple times in the head,” Bean said.

She was rushed to a hospital.

The victim in the first shooting was shot in the leg and is expected to be okay.

Even though the two incidents were close together, police don’t think the two were connected.

No arrests have been made in either case, and the motives are unclear.
