For the first time since being shot by a suspect during a traffic stop on June 29th, we’re hearing directly from Tulsa Police Officer Aurash Zarkeshan.
The Tulsa Police Department posted a video on Facebook featuring TPD Chief Wendell Franklin and other officers thanking the Tulsa community for its response to the shooting.
The video includes messages from Kristi Johnson, widow of TPD Sergeant Craig Johnson. Sgt. Johnson died from wounds suffered in the same shooting that injured Officer Zarkeshan.
The video concludes with a message from Officer Zarkeshan.
“Thank you Tulsa for your continued love and support through my recovery.” Zarkeshan said. “I can’t wait to be back home.”
