Tulsa doctors not in panic mode over Ebola

The man being treated for Ebola at a Dallas hospital has died, but now one of the workers who treated him may have contracted the virus.

Local doctors tell KRMG there is a need for vigilance surrounding Ebola, but most don’t think a large outbreak is around the corner.

Dr. Chad Edwards with Revolution Health and Wellness says it’s much worse in Africa where it started because of their medical practices.

“Their systems don’t allow for containment.” Dr. Edwards said.

In other words, they’re not up to speed with the latest isolation and treatment methods like the U.S. Although some are now calling those methods into question after the Dallas medical worker, who apparently broke protocol, contracted Ebola.
