Six area chambers of commerce are joining forces with the Tulsa Metro Chamber

(Tulsa, OK) – The Tulsa Metro Chamber is joining forces with six other area chambers of commerce.  The goal is to create economic growth in the entire region.

The chambers from Bixby, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Owasso, Sand Springs and Sapulpa all signed a compact Friday afternoon to work with the Tulsa Metro Chamber.  The signing was held on the roof of the Mayo Hotel in downtown Tulsa.

Josh Driskell, the head of the Jenks chamber said “We’re going to work together and acknowledge that as a region we can all benefit.”

Tulsa Metro Chamber President and CEO Mike Neal said it’s now a regional game.  “We are simply no longer competing with a city but with a mega-region.”

Wes Smithwick, the president and CEO of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce said the most meaningful part of the compact for him was the section says that while they may still compete for projects from time to time, attracting a new business to or retaining one is a win for the entire region.
