Three arrested after shootout and confrontation with police in north Tulsa, helicopter video released.

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police arrested a man Tuesday who they say threatened them during a recording of a confrontation between officers and a crowd of people on May 2nd.

Police say Marquis Banks recorded the contentious moment on Facebook Live on Sunday as police investigated a shooting that happened in the crowd near Apache and Yale around 8:30 p.m.

Police say they’ve had issues in the area recently and Sunday they found a woman had been shot in the hand.

The Tulsa Police Department’s helicopter witnessed a shootout in a parking lot where they say more than 100 shots were fired between rival gangs.

Officers in the chopper could see a man running through the crowd with an AR-15 before jumping into an SUV.

The helicopter followed the SUV until officers pulled it over and they detained four people. Officers say they found the loaded AR-15 in the SUV.

During the investigation, police say a bystander started throwing rocks at them, hitting one officer in the head.

The Facebook Live video then shows an officer drives off in the suspect SUV which appeared to irritate the video taker and others in the crowd.

Tulsa Police Capt. Richard Meulenberg says he understands the concerns they normally call for a wrecker to come to get suspect vehicles, but in this case, they needed to get to a safe location first. They wanted to finish their investigation and get out of the area as quickly as possible.

Officers arrested Banks on Tuesday after determining he was the one who recorded the confrontation. He’s been charged with threatening officers.

At the end of the shooting investigation, three of the four people in the SUV were released. Damoni Dickson was arrested for “Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.” Daione Williams was arrested and has been charged for “Assault with a Dangerous Weapon on a Police Officer”.
