Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office holds service for fallen deputies

Members of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, along with friends and family, gathered for a service at Chandler Park today to remember those who’ve died in the line of duty.

It’s part of the annual observance during National Police Week, when law enforcement agencies all around the country hold services to recognize those who sacrificed their lives while serving the public.

Sadly, a new name was added recently to the Tulsa County Fallen Officers Memorial.

Sgt. John Harris died from Covid in 2021. He was only 43 years old.

“Sgt. John Harris, who recently died in the line of duty, was added to the list of deputies who gave their lives while serving, so he’s a part of this day for sure, especially since he’s been the most recent deputy to die in the line of duty,” said Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado.

13 members of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office have died in the line of duty since 1909.
