Prostitutes removed during investigation on multiple marijuana farms

Oklahoma City — The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) says an investigation that focused on the activities of an Asian organized crime network led them to multiple marijuana farms in Oklahoma.

OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward says the network is linked to sex trafficking, prostitution and drug trafficking.

“Our investigation has uncovered evidence of sex trafficking linked to the recruitment of undocumented Asian females for the purpose of engaging in prostitution that caters to managers and administrators of numerous marijuana farms around the state,” said Woodward

Woodward says the investigation led them to residential locations in the Oklahoma City area on Thursday.

OBN Agents, members from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department, and officers from the Attorney General’s office served four search warrants.

Two prostituted females were identified and removed from one of the locations that was used as a brothel.

Two people were arrested on drug charges and more could be on the way as the investigation continues.

Woodward says OBN is actively investigating numerous criminal organizations linked to medical marijuana farms across Oklahoma.

OBN has shut down over 800 medical marijuana farms tied to organized crime in Oklahoma in two years.

Nearly 200 people have been arrested.

Anyone with information about criminal drug or human trafficking activity is encouraged to contact OBN at 1-800-522-8031.
