Pawnee County Sheriff searches for missing man who recently won money at a casino

PAWNEE COUNTY, Okla. — Deputies with the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a missing man who recently won money from the Sand Springs Casino.

Investigators say Martin Michael Young left the Sand Springs Casino on the morning of Sept. 26. Surveillance cameras captured Young leaving the casino around 6 a.m.

Young was spotted eight hours later at a QuikTrip in Cleveland. It’s not clear where Young was during that time frame.

Young’s sister said she spoke with him, and he said he won about $4,500. Sand Springs Casino said that Young had about $1,900 on his player’s club card.

His car was later found parked on the side of the road, near a private driveway around 3:30 p.m. The keys were in the ignition and his phone was charging in the seat.

The homeowner called police just before 8 p.m. to report the car as abandoned.

Pawnee County Sheriff Darrin Varnell believes there is foul play involved.

Investigators have spent 200 hours searching the area where Young’s car was last seen. That includes about 12 to 13 acres.

Young was driving a 1999 Acura.

If you have any information, call the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

This is a developing story.
