Oklahoma prisons locked down due to widespread gang violence

All Oklahoma prisons are locked down due to gang violence, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

KRMG has learned ODOC Director Scott Crow ordered a statewide lockdown in response to incidents at six facilities.

The six facilities are Jim E. Hamilton Correctional Center, Mack Alford Correctional Center, John H. Lilley Correctional Center, Lexington Assessment and Reception Center, Dick Conner Correctional Center, and Davis Correctional Facility.

ODOC said the incidents appear to be gang related and we’re told inmates were seriously injured, but ODOC said none were killed.

“The well-being of our staff and our inmate population is of the utmost importance.” Stated Director Crow, “We continue to monitor the situation and will maintain the lockdown as long as necessary for safety.”

All visitation is canceled during the lockdown.
