Oklahoma legislators speak out against Stillwater Public School’s bathroom policy

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Oklahoma State Representative Anthony Moore (R-Clinton) is calling on Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor to take action against Stillwater Public Schools.

The district has captured statewide attention over its bathroom policy. The district has allowed students to use whichever bathroom aligns with their gender identity since 2015.

“My colleagues and I have received numerous calls asking for us to take action on this issue,” Moore said. “I think it is important that Attorney General O’Connor steps in and issues an official opinion making clear exactly what the law says about the school board’s actions. We must protect our kids, and we have seen these policies in other states create very dangerous situations for female students.”

15 other legislators signed the letter, in addition to Rep. Moore. O’Connor has not yet responded.
