New law allows transgendered students choose to which bathroom, locker room they use

AB 1266 will allow students to choose not only the bathroom they use but the school activity as well. That includes which locker room they want to use if they are involved in sports.
All based on which gender they identify with.
The law will take effect on January 1st and applies to students in kindergarten through 12th-grade.
School workers in California say they hope the law will help cut down on bullying and discrimination but opponents say it will have the opposite effect.
One of the authors of the bill Democratic Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco. He points out the Los Angeles Unified school district has had a similar policy for nearly ten years and has not reported any issues.
Shortly after California Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill into law a conservative legal group called the Pacific Justice Institute asked for plaintiffs to assist in a lawsuit they hope to file against the decision.
