More Oklahoma counties experiencing drought

Several Oklahoma counties are now listed as ‘abnormally dry’ on the United States Drought Monitor.

In recent weeks, the drought has grown to include part of Tulsa County, as well as all of Wagoner, Muskogee and Okmulgee counties.

According to the data, 53 percent of the state is in the ‘abnormally dry’ category, 22 percent of the state is in the ‘moderate to severe’ category.

The very tip of the Oklahoma panhandle, or 0.08 percent of the state’ is in the ‘extreme drought’ category.
