Lawmaker tackles climate change in schools

OKLAHOMA CITY — Lawmakers in states across the country are taking up the issue of how to teach climate change in schools.

One Republican lawmaker in Oklahoma wants schoolchildren to get "two sides of the argument" on climate change and decide for themselves.

Sen. David Bullard, of Durant, is among politicians around the country who are pushing back against the scientific consensus that global warming is real, dire and man-made.

Scientists say the proposals will sow confusion, and they reject the notion that there are "two sides" on the issue.
