Kidnapping charge filed for taking 5-year old

Tulsa, Okla. — A man faces a kidnapping charge after Tulsa police say he tried to take a five-year old from a store in south Tulsa.

Officers say David Peterson followed a woman and a child into a store near 7100 South Memorial last Saturday.

Police say once inside he picked up the child and tried to walk out of the store.

Peterson was stopped though.

We're told he also smelled of alcohol.

Peterson was also charged with public intoxication.
