Juveniles arrested after overnight pursuit, shootout being investigated

TULSA, Okla. — A night of gunfire ends with multiple teenagers in jail.

Around 11:00 Thursday night, a caller told Tulsa police they were being fired upon from two different vehicles near West 41st Street North and MLK Blvd.

Minutes later they got a call about 20-30 more shots being fired from a vehicle that was driving towards 46th Street North.

As officers swept the area, they came across a silver Jeep Wrangler near 46th Street North and Hartford that matched the description of one of the cars involved in the shooting.

When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the suspects attempted to flee.

A pursuit began that ended in the Mingo Valley Division at 2318 South 96th East Avenue. The two suspects bailed from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. They were both captured shortly after.

Both were identified as juveniles and were arrested and booked on various charges.

Police say the juveniles were driving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler that was stolen and a handgun was located inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Officers located the scene of the shootout on N. Denver Avenue between 47th and 49th Streets North. Multiple spent casings were collected in multiple calibers.

Officers with the Gun Crime Unit will now be following up with their investigation.
