Intense winds sweep across Green Country ahead of storm chances

The wind caused damage to a building in Drumright

FOX23 and KRMG Meteorologist Michael Grogan says we’re experiencing strong south winds and near-record warmth.

The temperature reached close to 80 degrees and we’re just days away from the official start of Winter.

A wind advisory is in effect until 6pm Wednesday. Wind gusts could reach 45-miles-per-hour.

The owner of a building in Drumright is planning to remove debris after high winds caused part of the building to collapse Wednesday morning.

Firefighters say no one was injured.

Grogan says a round of strong to severe storms are likely this evening.

Showers are possible again tomorrow with thunderstorms in Friday’s forecast.

Saturday the high is expected to dip down to 48.
