A petition pushed by We The People led to the seating of the Grand Jury. The investigaton is a result of former resverve deputy Robert Bates mistaking his gun for a taser. Because of that, Bates shot and killed Eric Harris. Harris tried running from deputies after an undercover sting involving drugs and guns.
The incident brought issues to the surface over the training of reserve deputies and led to the resignati0n of several highly placed members of the sheriff's office.
Another deputy, Michael Huckeby resigned today. His father, Major Tom Huckeby was one of the men who stepped down earlier.
