Georgia-Pacific will spend $50 million to upgrade its Muskogee facility

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Georgia-Pacific will spend more than $50 million to upgrade its Muskogee facility.

The renovations are expected to take three years. In addition to improving safety and efficiency, a new production line will be installed.

These investments will help Georgia-Pacific continue our focus on transforming manufacturing equipment and processes that result in better employee safety, environmental performance, reliability and quality,” said Amy Borovich, Muskogee Mill Facility Leader. “We appreciate the support from all of our Muskogee community partners, including the Muskogee City-County Port Authority, City of Muskogee, and the City of Muskogee Foundation.”

Earlier this week, the Muskogee City-County Port Authority Board of Directors approved $500,000 in local incentives through the Strategic Investment Program. The program was created in 2014 and is funded through a grant from the City of Muskogee Foundation.

It’s not clear when the construction will begin.

The facility employs more than 700 people and manufactures paper towels, napkins, and bath tissue.
