Festival shooters due in court

An arraignment has been rescheduled for two men accused of shooting five people last year at a Hmong New Year festival in Tulsa.

Court records indicate that Boonmlee Lee and Meng Lee will now be in court on April 28 in district court.

Each has pleaded not guilty to shooting with intent to kill and weapons charges.

Prosecutors think one victim was likely targeted at the Oct. 12 festival because he mediated a dispute involving the suspects' family that was not resolved in their favor.

The Lees and the five injured people are all ethnic Hmong, who hail from Asian countries including Laos, China, Vietnam and Thailand.

Between 3,000 and 4,000 Hmong live in Tulsa, many arriving in recent years in search of jobs.
