Excessive Heat Warning in effect, possibly record-breaking temperatures this afternoon

TULSA, Okla. — An excessive heat warning is in effect for all of Green Country once again.

Dangerous heat continues to build Tuesday, with afternoon high temperatures expected to reach 105 to 111 degrees across much of eastern Oklahoma.

Afternoon heat index values will likely reach 105 to 115 degrees across much of the area.

The National Weather Service Office in Tulsa predicts Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and McAlester could even break some all-time high-temperature records.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
