Driver without headlights eludes deputies, officers, troopers

Tulsa, Okla. — A neighborhood near East Pine Street and North Harvard Avenue has a lot of law enforcement activity while a driver without headlights tries to elude officers. We're told a white male wearing dark clothing was noticed to be driving in the area around 4 a.m. Tuesday when he stopped and got out of the vehicle. A Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy followed the driver on foot. The driver eventually got back into the car, which was not a stolen vehicle, and proceeded to drive before stopping again near East Latimer Street and North Vandalia Avenue. The driver bailed again and deputies could not locate him. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Tulsa police officers assisted in the search, but the violation did not involve a felony, which is required before a canine officer can be used in a search.
