City crews update public on what to expect with the arctic blast

Tulsa — Street workers are preparing for extremely cold temperatures expected to hit the metro on Thursday.

Streets Maintenance Manager Tim McCorkle says they don’t anticipate a significant impact on area roads, but they’re standing by just in case.

Meteorologists say snow, extremely cold temperatures and high winds will create life-threatening conditions.

Three warming stations are open now open for families seeking shelter from the cold:

• The Salvation Army Center of Hope | 102 N. Denver Ave. | Open 24/7
• Tulsa County Emergency Shelter | 2401 Charles Page Blvd. | Open 24/7

City leaders say make sure you check on tour elderly neighbors.
