Child remains in coma, one week after she was hit by a car in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa eight-year-old girl is still in a coma after she was hit by a car while riding her bike last week.

Rosalee Newkirk is still in a coma. Her grandma, Michelle McGee says, “Monday night, they said she was so critical that they wouldn’t even let her momma see her until after they got her stable. And then her momma called me. She was frantic. She was scared to death; she didn’t know if her daughter was going to make it or live.”

This family says most of the damage was to her brain. She underwent some major brain surgery, but has more surgery and rehabilitation in her future, if she makes it through.

Her grandma says Rosalee was attacked by a Pitbull three years ago and now this. She says, “she ended up having to have staple all the way from here, all the way around. Now a whole another head injury; I don’t understand why this little girl has to go through so much.”

There is a GoFundMe to help this family if you can.
