Cash drawer taken during armed robbery at Tulsa motel

An armed robber took more than just money during a holdup Monday evening at a Tulsa motel.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Darren Bristow tells us a young black male wearing a black hoodie and black pants robbed the Day's Inn on Sheridan near I-244.

Bristow says the robber "produced a semi-automatic pistol and robbed the clerk of the cash drawer that was inside the cash register. (He) immediately exited the hotel, ran to the east and got into a car that we believe he had waiting at the hotel just to the east."

A witness told Sergeant Bristow that he saw an early-20's black male about five feet, five inches tall and weighing 130 pounds run away from the hotel.

Police are looking for a red car used by the suspect during his getaway about 10:24 p.m. Monday.
